OK, so the BNL concert was fantastic. The guys were witty and fun, obviously enjoying themselves. They played a long set of “the hits”, and not much of the later stuff that I personally think is much better material, but hey, they knew their audience.
Genesis blew my mind. They were absolutely relentless. As far as I could tell, they havent slowed down one tiny bit. Phil was taking it a bit easy on vocals, and “the Drum Thing” wasnt as long as i’ve seen it go on other convert vids, but then he spent more time behind the kit than he’s done in past shows. My only regret is they didnt do “Jesus, he Knows Me”, which is one of my favorites.
I’ve got some pics of both shows, but I need to sort them out and see if any of them came out well. We were further from the stage for both of these than we were for The Police.
In Domestic news, Lucky got out yesterday. He managed to push the front window screen out of the frame. This resulted in him being found by a neighbor, who passed him off to another neighbor who called the vet (he’s wearing a tag with this vax info and vet’s ad), who called The Old Man (who’s name is on the vet bills) who called my Sister-In-Law who called us at 9:30 AM to go reclaim him. So I repaired the front screen (I just needed to reseat the thingamobober that holds the screening in) and that was that.
This morning after a looooong night’s sleep I opened up the windows since it’s a cool but damp day. Lucky started bolting back and forth between kitchen and front windows, yrowwwwling like Ive never heard him do before. I followed him to the kitchen window on one of his runs, thinking to calm him down a bit, to find he’s pushed that one out as well. He didnt start heading through it untill he saw I was behind him though. He wants to go out, but doesnt want to go out *alone* apparently. So now the kitchen window is shut till Lee gets up to help me get that one fixed.
I want to get him a harness and leash so I can teach him where home is. I just dont think he’s old enough to not get lost if I just let him loose, and besides, that’s not really safe. I really do prefer the idea of leash training him for some outdoor expedition time, but we havent been able to pick up the gear.
For now he’s settled down and is happliy hunting the flies that have gotten in through the broken screens.
